Nick Alford is a founding partner of Kingston Smith Consulting. Nick has over 25 years experience in asset management, including Executive Board positions, gained in the UK, Europe and the Far East. He has particular expertise in leading large scale operational and technology teams across the financial services sector. Nick has had responsibility for the design and implementation of major outsourcing relationships. He has a strong background in Corporate Governance and Risk Management at an operational level.

Nick was most recently Chief Operating Officer at Morley Fund Management where he ran Operations, Technology, Change Management, Supplier Management, Business Protection and Facilities. He was the driving force behind the outsourcing of operations to JP Morgan, one of the largest transactions of its kind at the time, and also in the negotiations to establish a joint venture fund management company in China. He built effective Operational Client Relationship teams between Morley and their strategic partners in the Aviva Group.

At Dresdner RCM, Nick helped restructure the business - turning it from a loss maker into a profit centre and developed a more effective Global Operating Model.

At LGT Nick initially worked as Assistant Group Financial Controller in the UK. He relocated to the Far East and became Regional COO based in Hong Kong covering Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Australia and Taiwan. He then relocated to Dublin to establish their Offshore Fund Administration entity. He returned to the UK to become European COO prior to the merger with INVESCO.

Nick qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1978 with Smallfield Rawlins, a firm subsequently merged into Kingston Smith.

He is a life long Spurs supporter and spends as much time as he can playing golf and watching the England cricket team.
